Efeito do treino pliométrico e do treino de escada na agilidade do sprint de 20 metros e no VO2máx em atletas de karaté

Resumo

Introdução: O karaté é uma arte marcial muito popular que envolve participantes de várias idades. Na categoria kumite, os atletas devem possuir capacidades físicas ideais, como velocidade, agilidade e resistência, para manter uma vantagem competitiva.
Objectivo: Assim sendo, este estudo procura comparar os efeitos do treino pliométrico e dos exercícios em escada na velocidade, agilidade e VO2máx em atletas de karaté.
Metodologia: Participaram no estudo 30 atletas de karaté (kumite) com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e os 20 anos, com um peso médio de 60,88 ± 7,5 kg. Foram divididos em três grupos: (A1; n = 10) grupo controlo, (A2; n = 10) grupo pliométrico e (A3; n = 10) grupo exercício em escada. O treino foi realizado três vezes por semana, durante seis semanas. A velocidade, agilidade e VO2máx foram medidos antes e após a intervenção em todos os grupos. A análise dos dados foi realizada através de ANOVA unidirecional, seguida do teste post-hoc da Diferença Mínima Significativa (LSD), com um nível de significância de 5%.
Resultados: Os resultados mostraram que o treino pliométrico e em escada durante 6 semanas melhorou significativamente o desempenho físico dos atletas de karaté (p ≤ 0,05). O treino pliométrico foi mais eficaz no aumento da velocidade de sprint e da capacidade aeróbia (p ≤ 0,05), enquanto o treino em escada foi mais eficaz na melhoria da agilidade (p ≤ 0,05).
Conclusões: Este estudo revelou que a utilização do treino pliométrico e em escada em atletas de karaté é altamente eficaz na melhoria da velocidade, agilidade e VO2máx em atletas de kumite, fornecendo orientações práticas para os treinadores na elaboração de programas de treino eficazes e direcionados para melhorar o desempenho físico dos atletas de karaté.
