Abstract

Introduction: Body percussion emerges as an innovative and accessible tool for promoting psychological well-being, emphasizing its connection with key dimensions such as self-concept, positive interpersonal relationships, and holistic personal development.

Objective: To determine the relationship between body percussion and psychological well-being in Peruvian women victims of violence, considering specific dimensions such as self-concept, positive relationships, autonomy, environmental mastery, and personal growth.

Methodology: A non-experimental, correlational, and quantitative design was employed. The study involved 58 women from a province in northern Peru, selected through non-probabilistic sampling. Body percussion was evaluated using a 12-item questionnaire, while psychological well-being was measured with Ryff’s questionnaire, both previously validated. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and linear regression with SPSS software.

Results: A direct and significant relationship was found between body percussion and psychological well-being (r = .648, p < .000), with a 32% influence (R² = .32). Additionally, body percussion showed moderate correlations with the dimensions of self-concept (r = .690, R² = .39), positive relationships (r = .611, R² = .35), autonomy (r = .587, R² = .30), environmental mastery (r = .547, R² = .21), and personal growth (r = .695, R² = .36).

Conclusions: Body percussion significantly influenced the psychological well-being of the women studied, standing out as an accessible and effective tool for fostering resilience and personal growth in adverse contexts.
