O papel do exercício de ioga como terapia na redução do stress oxidativo: uma revisão sistemática

Resumo

Contexto: O aumento do stress oxidativo deve-se tanto à exposição como à geração de radicais livres pelo organismo. Sabe-se que o exercício físico reduz o stress oxidativo. No entanto, ainda não se sabe como o ioga afeta o stress oxidativo.

Objetivos da Investigação: Este estudo procurou determinar como a prática de yoga afeta a redução dos níveis de malondialdeído, um indicador de stress oxidativo.

Métodos: Para este estudo foram pesquisadas várias bases de dados de revistas científicas, incluindo a PubMed, a Web of Science e a Science Direct. O estudo considerou diversos fatores, incluindo estudos realizados entre 2015 e 2025 sobre o ioga e o malondialdeído em humanos. A revisão sistemática excluiu os artigos que não cumpriam os critérios de inclusão; por exemplo, os que utilizaram animais não utilizados na investigação. Foram encontradas um total de 165 publicações utilizando as bases de dados Web of Science, Science Direct e PubMed. A necessidade desta mudança sistémica é analisada em dez artigos cuidadosamente selecionados e revistos por pares. O Método de Relato Preferencial e Meta-Análise (PRISMA) foi utilizado para criar o procedimento operacional padrão para este estudo.

Resultados: Os resultados deste estudo abrangente demonstram claramente que a prática de yoga pode reduzir os níveis de malondialdeído em humanos.

Conclusão: Está demonstrado que os níveis de malondialdeído em humanos diminuem após a prática de yoga. Por isso, esta pode ser uma terapia para reduzir os níveis de radicais livres no organismo.
