A influência do IMC nos erros de rastreio da competição de movimento entre homens moderadamente ativos

Introdução: O Movement Competency Screening (MCS) é uma ferramenta validada para avaliar a qualidade do movimento e orientar programas de exercício individualizados.
Objectivo: Analisar a influência do índice de massa corporal (IMC) nos resultados do MCS e identificar regiões anatómicas com deficiências de movimento em homens moderadamente activos.
Metodologia: Estudo transversal com 30 homens (19 a 49 anos) avaliados pelos critérios do MCS (100 pontos) em três movimentos: agachamentos com torção, flexões de braços e agachamentos unilaterais.
Resultados: Observou-se uma elevada competência na parte superior do corpo, com destaque para as flexões de braços com 95,9% de acerto. Em contraste, surgiram défices acentuados na parte inferior do corpo e no core: baixa precisão nos agachamentos unilaterais (20,0%) e alinhamento inadequado dos joelhos nos agachamentos unilaterais (46,7%). A análise pelo teste U de Mann-Whitney mostrou diferenças associadas ao IMC: os indivíduos com excesso de peso (≥ 25 kg/m²) apresentaram maior instabilidade lombar e erros de equilíbrio (42,9% vs. 6,3%; p = 0,017), enquanto os que tinham IMC normal cometeram mais erros do joelho (75,0% vs. 28,6%; p = 0,010). A competência lombar foi moderada (60-80%).
Discussão: O ECM identificou ineficiências biomecânicas, mas a relação inversa entre o IMC e os erros do joelho sugere que os escores padrão podem confundir adaptações corporais com disfunções.
Conclusões: O ECM é útil em populações moderadamente ativas, embora seja recomendado ajustar os critérios de avaliação de acordo com o IMC para melhorar a precisão diagnóstica.
