Apreciação corporal e motivação para a atividade física como preditores de hábitos alimentares em estudantes universitários do altiplano peruano

Resumo

Introdução e objetivo: Durante a fase universitária, os hábitos alimentares podem deteriorar-se devido a fatores como o aumento das responsabilidades académicas, a autonomia na tomada de decisões e as alterações na rotina diária. No planalto peruano, estas condições são agravadas pelas limitações socioculturais e económicas, tornando-se importante investigar os fatores psicológicos que influenciam a dieta desta população. O objetivo desta investigação foi determinar se a valorização corporal e a motivação para a prática de atividade física predizem os hábitos alimentares em estudantes universitários do altiplano peruano.
Metodologia: Adotou-se uma abordagem quantitativa, com um desenho preditivo não experimental. A amostra foi constituída por 866 estudantes universitários (M= 22,04, DP= 3,633), que responderam à Escala de Apreciação Corporal-2 (BAS-2), à Escala PALMS e ao Questionário de Hábitos Alimentares, instrumentos com propriedades psicométricas adequadas.
Resultados: Determinou-se que tanto a apreciação corporal (β= 0,148, p<0,01) como a motivação para a prática de atividade física (β= 0,270, p<0,01) têm um efeito preditivo significativo nos hábitos alimentares dos estudantes universitários. Além disso, o modelo ajustou adequadamente os dados (F= 63,733, p<0,01) e explicou 12,9% da variabilidade dos hábitos alimentares (R²= 0,129), o que mostra que as variáveis ​​psicológicas e motivacionais desempenham um papel importante na formação dos comportamentos alimentares.
Conclusões: A valorização corporal e a motivação para a prática de atividade física predizem os hábitos alimentares em estudantes universitários do altiplano peruano.
