Competências e atitudes: preditores da motivação para a investigação em estudantes universitários

Introdução: A qualidade do ensino superior está intimamente ligada à capacidade dos estudantes para fazer ciência a todos os níveis e participar em projetos de investigação.
Objectivo: O objectivo do estudo foi determinar a capacidade preditiva de competências e atitudes sobre a motivação para a investigação em estudantes universitários.
Metodologia: Esta investigação abordou um desenho preditivo, transversal e não experimental, envolvendo 484 estudantes entre os 18 e os 57 anos (M = 22,40; DP = 6,07), 62,6% eram mulheres, 86% eram estudantes de licenciatura e 88,8% eram de universidades privadas.
Resultados: A análise da estrutura fatorial dos instrumentos foi realizada como procedimento inicial e os resultados revelaram que o modelo explicativo apresentou índices de ajustamento aceitáveis χ2 (7) = 17,5, ρ = <.001, RMSEA = .056, SRMR = .031, CFI = .979; além disso, é evidente que existe uma relação significativa entre as variáveis e as dimensões (ρ < ,050). As hipóteses sobre o efeito na motivação do inquérito de competências, ( = . 13, p = . 010, e atitudes, ( = . 69, p < . 001, foram confirmadas.
Discussão: Com base nestes dados, as universidades devem reforçar os programas de participação em investigação para estudantes universitários com foco na obtenção de competências.
Conclusões: Conclui-se que as competências e atitudes predizem a motivação para a investigação e explicam 56% da sua variabilidade.
