Análise comparativa de exercícios de flexão no solo e elevados para ativação do músculo peitoral maior

Resumo

Este estudo teve como objetivo medir a ativação muscular comparando a eletromiografia (EMG) de dois tipos de flexões, ou seja, terrestres e elevadas. Vinte atletas masculinos ativos (idade 20,12 ± 3,57 anos, peso 65,38 ± 9,32 kg, altura 175,5 ± 10,5 cm) foram recrutados para o estudo. O músculo peitoral maior (PM) da parte superior do corpo foi escolhido como músculo alvo do estudo. A raiz quadrada média (RMS) das atividades EMG para o músculo PM foi analisada para determinar a participação muscular máxima. Nas flexões elevadas, os sujeitos realizaram as flexões em uma barra elevada de 18 centímetros de altura, na qual agarraram a barra de acordo com a largura dos ombros. Além disso, seus pés estavam apoiados no chão em uma plataforma de altura semelhante. O teste t pareado foi utilizado como ferramenta estatística para comparar a ativação EMG do PM entre as duas variações de flexão. Além disso, foram considerados os valores de média e desvio padrão para estatística descritiva. O nível de significância foi fixado em 0,05. O resultado do estudo mostrou que não houve diferenças estatisticamente significativas nas atividades EMG do músculo PM entre as duas variações de flexão com valor t de -0,89. No entanto, a estatística descritiva mostrou que o valor médio das flexões elevadas (RMS, 350,63) foi superior ao das flexões no chão (RMS, 311,44). Esses achados sugerem que flexões elevadas podem induzir maior ativação dos músculos PM, potencialmente devido à maior instabilidade devido à influência de variações elevadas de exercício no envolvimento muscular.
