Testes mais utilizados para avaliação do índice de qualidade muscular em crianças e adolescentes: uma revisão sistemática

Diferentes investigações têm se concentrado na melhoria do índice de qualidade muscular (IQM) para aumentar a função muscular na população adulta. No entanto, na população adolescente não só estas avaliações parecem ser escassas, mas os métodos utilizados para avaliar o MQI também parecem ser ainda mais limitados. Portanto, os objetivos foram: i) Determinar quais testes são mais utilizados para determinar o IQM em crianças e adolescentes saudáveis ou com alguma patologia, e ii) observar a quantidade de estudos que avaliaram o IQM nessa população. Este estudo corresponde a uma revisão sistemática conduzida seguindo os elementos de relato preferidos para revisões sistemáticas e meta-análises de diretrizes (PRISMA). Os limites de busca foram artigos publicados desde a data de início até 2023 que incluíram avaliações que permitiram obter explicitamente um resultado de MQI em crianças ou adolescentes. A busca identificou artigos publicados nas bases de dados Web of Science, Scopus, SPORTDiscus, PubMed e Medline. Um total de 16 artigos foram incluídos na revisão sistemática, os quais foram estratificados nos diferentes métodos utilizados para avaliar o MQI. Existe uma grande variedade de testes para determinação do IQM na população de crianças e adolescentes, o que por vezes leva à falta de heterogeneidade e reprodutibilidade dos resultados nos protocolos de avaliação. Apesar disso, sugere-se a incorporação de novos testes que incorporem variáveis de força muscular, potência muscular e volume muscular, mas da mesma área corporal.
