O handebol requer uma variedade de habilidades atléticas, mas a força do arremesso é crucial para passar, marcar e ganhar impulso. O treinamento pliométrico utiliza exercícios explosivos que aumentam a velocidade e a força da contração muscular para melhorar a potência e a velocidade. O objetivo do estudo é determinar se a adição de exercícios pliométricos aos regimes de treinamento de jogadores de handebol pode melhorar sua habilidade de arremesso de forma perceptível. A pesquisa utilizou um desenho experimental com metodologia pré-teste-pós-teste para um único grupo. A equipa distrital de andebol dos Sambas, composta por 15 atletas, escolheu os participantes, que tinham entre 17 e 22 anos. O treinamento pliométrico foi a intervenção e foi realizado em três sessões semanais durante quatro semanas. Para a coleta dos dados foi utilizado o teste de força de medicine ball e dardo Quadrathlo, e para análise foi utilizado o SPSS versão 26. A pesquisa mostrou que a potência média de arremesso e a velocidade aumentaram significativamente, com melhorias de 2,07 entre os valores de pré e pós-teste. de 19h93 e 22h00, respectivamente. O valor de significância obtido foi de 0,000, o que indica uma melhora estatisticamente significativa. O treinamento pliométrico foi muito eficaz na melhoria da força explosiva e da coordenação neuromuscular necessária para realizar arremessos de handebol poderosos e rápidos. Em conclusão, os resultados sugerem que a incorporação do treino pliométrico nos programas de treino de jogadores de andebol pode melhorar substancialmente o seu desempenho no lançamento. Recomenda-se aos treinadores e treinadores que integrem exercícios pliométricos para maximizar o potencial atlético de seus jogadores.
