Coordenação motora em relação ao peso e idade em crianças do ensino fundamental na Indonésia

Resumo

Poucos estudos avaliaram a relação entre coordenação motora e composição corporal em crianças. Este estudo investigou a relação entre obesidade, peso normal e baixo peso em crianças de 7 a 12 anos na Indonésia. Neste estudo, a adequação do Körperkoordenationstest Für Kinder (KTK3+) como ferramenta de avaliação da coordenação motora foi avaliada em 986 crianças do ensino primário (485 meninas, 501 meninos) da província de Riau, Indonésia. Todas as crianças realizaram quatro subtestes: trave de equilíbrio (BB), salto lateral (JS), deslocamento lateral (MS) e coordenação olho-mão (EHC). O peso (baixo peso, peso normal, obesidade) foi classificado de acordo com os critérios da OMS em crianças de 5 a 19 anos de idade. Foi demonstrado que a obesidade infantil influencia negativamente o desempenho do KTK3+ (p = 0,001), sendo algumas influências causadas pelas características físicas, além das necessidades de coordenação do corpo causando os efeitos mais pronunciados do IMC. O quociente motor (QM) está fortemente relacionado à idade. Nas crianças com peso normal, o mesmo QM foi observado em todas as faixas etárias (p = 0,400). Enquanto isso, o desempenho da coordenação motora das crianças obesas da faixa etária mais avançada (10 a 12 anos) foi muito melhor do que o da faixa etária mais jovem (7 a 9 anos) (p = 0,001). O estudo constatou que as deficiências motoras estavam presentes em 17% das crianças com peso normal, mas aumentaram para 28,1% nas crianças obesas. Nossos resultados mostraram que as diferenças na coordenação motora associadas ao índice de massa corporal foram mais pronunciadas nas crianças mais velhas. Embora sejam necessários estudos longitudinais para consolidar esses achados, destaca-se a importância de priorizar o desenvolvimento precoce de habilidades motoras em crianças obesas para promover seu comprometimento com a atividade física.
