Propiocepción cervical y parámetros espaciotemporales de la marcha en adultos con dolor de cuello crónico

Resumen

Objetivo: Evaluar la asociación entre la propiocepción cervical y los parámetros espaciotemporales de la marcha en adultos con dolor de cuello crónico.

Métodos: Estudio transversal analítico cuya muestra estuvo conformada por 37 adultos con dolor cervical crónico. La propiocepción cervical se midió con la prueba de error de posición articular. Los parámetros espaciotemporales de la marcha fueron la velocidad y asimetría de la marcha, longitud de zancada y cadencia, se midieron con el Project Automation Framework (PAF) de la marcha del sistema de captura de movimiento Qualisys® Track Manager (QTM).

Resultados: El 73% de los participantes fueron mujeres y la mediana de la edad fue 32 años (rango intercuartílico de 26 a 47). El error de posicionamiento articular general tuvo una media 11,1 ± 2,9 grados y el 97,3% tenía la propiocepción de cuello alterada. La velocidad de la marcha tuvo una media de 1,1 ± 0,1 m/s, la asimetría de la marcha una mediana de 3,4 (rango intercuartílico de 2 a 6,9), la longitud de la zancada fue de 1,3 ± 0,1 metros y la cadencia de 98,9 ± 8,5 pasos por minuto. No se encontró asociación entre la propiocepción cervical con la velocidad, asimetría, longitud de zancada ni cadencia (p>0,05).

Discusión: Aunque hay pocos estudios similares, sus resultados difieren, posiblemente debido a variaciones en los instrumentos utilizados, el diseño metodológico y las características de la población.

Conclusiones: Este estudio sugiere que la propiocepción cervical no se asocia con los parámetros espaciotemporales de la marcha como la velocidad, asimetría, longitud de la zancada y cadencia en adultos con dolor cervical crónico.
