Oito semanas de atividade física aumentam significativamente os níveis de BDNF em estudantes indonésios do ensino secundário: um ensaio clínico randomizado controlado.

Resumo

Contexto: Muitos fatores influenciam a função cognitiva. Um deles é o exercício físico regular. Estudos anteriores demonstraram que a atividade física aguda aumenta o BDNF, um biomarcador da função cognitiva. No entanto, o exercício crónico não foi extensivamente estudado.

Objectivo: Este estudo teve como objectivo determinar o efeito de oito semanas de actividade física no aumento dos níveis de BDNF em estudantes do ensino secundário na Indonésia.

Métodos: Participaram neste estudo cinquenta mulheres saudáveis, divididas em dois grupos: um grupo experimental (GE) (n=25) e um grupo de controlo (GC) (n=25). As participantes tinham entre 17 e 20 anos e foram selecionadas por amostragem aleatória. Todas as participantes assinaram o consentimento informado fornecido pela investigadora. Após a seleção, os dois grupos foram formados: o grupo experimental (GE) realizou atividade física três vezes por semana durante oito semanas, enquanto o grupo de controlo (GC) não recebeu qualquer intervenção de atividade física. O estudo foi conduzido ao longo de oito semanas, tendo-se iniciado com a recolha de informação sobre as características das participantes. Posteriormente, as participantes foram instruídas para realizarem atividades físicas sob a orientação de professores de educação física. O treino consistiu em desportos como voleibol, basquetebol e futebol. Antes do primeiro dia de treino, foi colhida uma amostra de sangue como pré-teste e, após oito semanas de tratamento, foi realizada uma nova colheita como pós-teste.

Resultados: Os resultados do estudo mostraram que oito semanas de atividade física aumentaram significativamente os níveis de BDNF em mulheres saudáveis ​​(p < 0,05*).

Conclusão: Portanto, pode-se concluir que a atividade física crónica pode ter um impacto significativo na função cognitiva através dos níveis de BDNF. Consequentemente, recomenda-se a prática regular de exercício físico para prevenir o declínio cognitivo.
