Importância da supervisão profissional para melhorar a composição corporal em homens treinados em força: um estudo preliminar não randomizado

Introdução: A supervisão profissional no treino de força para a composição corporal pode otimizar os resultados, especialmente a um nível mais avançado. Objectivo: Este estudo teve como objectivo avaliar as alterações na composição corporal durante um programa de treino de força de 15 meses em homens treinados que se exercitaram sem supervisão profissional. Hipótese: Os participantes com mais de três anos consecutivos de experiência em treino de força que treinaram sem supervisão profissional não apresentariam melhorias na composição corporal. Métodos: Recrutámos 17 homens com mais de três anos de experiência para participar neste estudo longitudinal não randomizado de grupo único. Os participantes tinham como objetivo aumentar o tecido muscular. As medidas basais da composição corporal foram obtidas por absorciometria de raios X de dupla energia durante um ensaio clínico anterior (inicial). Após o período de treino não supervisionado de 15 meses, os indivíduos incluídos na análise cumpriram determinados critérios de inclusão (respostas a um questionário validado, capacidade de levantar mais de 1,5 vezes a sua massa corporal no exercício de agachamento). Resultados: No final do estudo, não foram observadas alterações significativas na massa gorda (Δ = -0,29 (2,16) [-1,40, 0,82] kg; P = 0,587; dunb = -0,071 [-0,337, 0,191]) ou na massa livre de gordura ajustada (MLG) (Δ = 0,19 (1,22) [-0,43, 0,82] kg; P = 0,516; dunb = 0,029 [-0,061, 0,121]) em comparação com o valor inicial. Isto deveu-se provavelmente à má gestão do treino de autorregulação e dos componentes nutricionais. Conclusões: As nossas descobertas sugerem que aqueles com mais de 3 anos de treino de força podem não melhorar a sua massa muscular após 15 meses de treino não supervisionado. A supervisão profissional e a adesão às recomendações baseadas na evidência são essenciais para otimizar os resultados.
